Strength and stiffness properties of stonewool used as cloudburst reservoir under roads

With the climate change, Copenhagen has seen an increase in cloudbursts. During cloudbursts, sewer systems overflow and result flooded basements overspill of untreated water into harbour. A solution to limited capacity is make cloudbursts reservoirs delay rain filling system. At Langelands Plads Copenhagen, a reservoir been established using stonewool product Rockflow. The Rockflow installed under two roads space used for recreational purposes. Based on monotonic cyclic laboratory tests, material parameters appropriate numerical model anisotropic were established. In-situ measurements stiffness during after installation at consisted plate load tests falling weight deflectometer together with rutting measurements. in-situ statistically processed back-analysed confirm initial model.
